The Pacific Ocean is one giant garbage patch filled with plastic, some pieces invisible to the naked eye but potentially harmful to marine life and people, according to the husband-and-wife team behind a nonprofit dedicated to the ocean called 5Gyres. The worst offender of plastic pollution is the micro beads found in several beauty products women use to exfoliate their skin, they said.
